Birdwatching
Our village is particularly well located for birdwatching. It is possible to observe more than 150 different species of birds from April to September. Each outing is an opportunity for new observations.
Around Crisan, the natural environment is particularly varied: large lakes, a tangle of canals, large reed beds, willow and poplar forests, shallow waters, brackish water ponds, etc.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of what can be observed:
- On the edge of the banks: a multitude of squaco and night herons, egrets, the glossy ibis, a wide variety of waders such as ruff and redshank ..., the kingfisher, the spoonbill...
- On the lakes: white and dalmatian pelican, red-necked and black-necked grebe, black and white winged tern, etc.
- In reed beds: the bearded tit, the great reed warbler, the penduline tit, the little bittern, the little ktake, etc.
- In brackish ponds: the avocet, the collared pratincole, the shelduck and ruddy shelduck, the curlew, the little ringed plover, the Caspian tern, etc.
- By the sea : Little and sandwich tern,great black-headed gull(palass’s gull), etc.
Accompanied by an ornithologist and English-speaking guide, you will set off on a boat getaway of about 7 hours a day and you will sneak to the best birdwatching sites.

One-week stay
Description
Day 1: Transfer Bucharest / Tulcea. Accommodation in Tulcea.
Day 2: Transfer to Crisan and first birding trip by boat. Accommodation and dinner at the pension
Day 3-4-5-6: Birding trip with a specialized local guide, each day will be dedicated to exploring a different area (Caraorman, Mila 23, Letea, Sulina with the coastal area, the South-West area).
Day 7: Transfer to Tulcea and discovery of several sites in the Dobrogea. Accommodation in Tulcea
